Romero v. Columbia Kingwood is significant for the jury having determined for the first time in Texas legal history that a hospital was grossly negligent (requiring a finding of ‘Malice’) in their having granted credentials to a surgeon known to have a dependency on prescription medications.
COC Services v. CompUSA, et al.
Client law firm: Sayles, Lidji & Werbner (Mark Werbner)
This case resulted in an award of $454.5 million for the Plaintiff related to tortuous interference and breach of contract in the privatization of CompUSA. It is one of the largest commercial verdicts in the country, and the largest of it’s kind in Dallas County history.
